Psychotherapy Skills and Methods CE

Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy
September 24, 2024

When: Friday, September 27, 2024 12:00-2:00pm EST
What: 2 CE credits for Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy Members
Details: Everyone “knows” that what psychotherapists do is crucial to treatment success, but what exactly has been shown in the research evidence to work? A multiyear, inter-organizational task force of scientist-practitioners compiled, analyzed, and disseminated what we know empirically about 27 psychotherapy skills and methods. That work is summarized in an edited book (Psychotherapy Skills and Methods That Work; Hill & Norcross) and forms the basis for this 2-hour CE webinar. Presenters will focus on empathic reflections, silences, rupture repairs, and emotional tone groups, review the research evidence on its effectiveness and highlight the most promising research methods for investigation and then summarize the therapeutic practices on four such skills.
Experts Clara E. Hill, PhD, John Norcross, PhD, Heidi Levitt, PhD, Christopher Muran, PhD, Catherine Eubanks, PhD, Dennis Kivlighan, PhD, and Peter Muntigl will be on the panel.
