The Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy is accepting nominations for the Student Excellence in Practice Award. In keeping with The Society’s mission of 1) advancing the practice of psychotherapy and 2) supporting the development of graduate student trainees, The Society is pleased to offer this award to recognize the achievements of its student members in the area of clinical practice. The award will be presented to the candidate who best demonstrates commitment to the practice of psychotherapy and exemplary achievement in clinical work.

The Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy is accepting nominations for the Student Excellence in Teaching/Mentorship Award. The award will be presented to the candidate who best demonstrates commitment to teaching and mentorship in the context of psychotherapy and related fields.
ViewAPA Convention Student Poster Award
Two winners are chosen and announced at the Division 29 Lunch with the Luminaries the following day. Each winner is awarded a $500 prize. With this initiative, Division 29 is able to support dedicated students who are aiming to advance psychotherapy research. All Division 29 student members are encouraged to submit a poster abstract each year to enter!

The Jeffrey E. Barnett Psychotherapy Research Paper Award for the best paper that addresses psychotherapist factors that may impact treatment effectiveness and outcomes, to include type of training, amount of training, professional degree or discipline of the psychotherapist, and the role of psychotherapists’ personal characteristics.
ViewDr. Lillian Comas-Diaz Student Diversity Paper Award
The Lillian Comas-Diaz Diversity Award for the best paper on issues of diversity in psychotherapy. The APA defines diversity as individual and role differences, including those based on age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, religion, disability, language, and socioeconomic status.
